Intel is currently working on a new technology to deter laptop theft. It has something to do with a chip that would disable the computer if it gets stolen. As to how exactly it would work is still not clear.
First thought that came to my mind was... great! Someone finally thought of adding a chip on the notebook that could possibly deter laptop theft. A few minutes after, I came to remember LoJack's anti theft software. So I guess it doesn't really recover that many laptops, eh?
